The buzzing city streets of New York welcomed a vibrant splash of colour as of late thanks to our very own Charles & Ron's latest fashion campaign!
With maxi floral prints featured on flowy dresses and sixties inspired go-go boots, to crisp flouncy white shirts and pussy-bow blouses, the Big Apple made way for some bold looks straight out of the Maltese fashion house's latest collection, showing the world what they're made of!
And if the eye-popping designs weren't head-turning enough, none other than famed international model Jeana Turner was chosen to rock the collection. The 25-year-old American fashion and beauty model first shot to fame after having appeared on America's Next Top Model, but unlike other past, forgotten contestants, Jeana has gone from strength to strength since the show. She's been featured in countless makeup and catwalk campaigns, and her striking looks have earned her thousands of followers.
Since Jeana was 12 years old, she's suffered from alopecia and has since lost all her hair, resulting in the striking bald look both her fans and casting agents have come to adore. In the TV show, she was made to ditch the wigs in her "makeover" stage of ANTM, and since then she's never looked back and has been catapulted into the mainstream.
As a beauty fan, Jeana still dabbles with wigs to switch up her look, but it's safe to say that Charles & Ron went with the right decision when they chose to cast Jeana sans-wig, resulting in a poppin' set of photographs that stands up next to any high-end ad campaign!
Glam for the shoot was taken care of by none other than Makeup Artist of the Year 2019 MFWA winner Jean Zammit, who went for striking electric blue and marigold eyeshadow, stretched way upwards of the forehead. We're not sure we'll be trying out the look anytime soon but it sure does make for a fabulous photoshoot!
Photographer Carlton Agius captured the collection impeccably, choosing urban locations to offset the natural-world prints so beloved by our most famous Maltese fashion house. The prints in C&R's Spring/Summer collection, as always, stem from the Maltese Islands. We just adore their oversized wild flower print which is reminiscent of pretty petals on the side of country roads, and their salt-pan print, as seen on the electric blue blouse is just genius!
Of course, here at GuideMeMalta we already have our eye on a few key pieces, and we're thinking we'd get tons of use out of a multi-striped crossbody handbag this Summer. Swoon!
We're delighted to see Maltese talent taking it to the next level in the fashion industry. It's safe to say we're raising the bar in the fashion stakes, and can't wait to see what our hyper-cool designers, stylists, photographers and MUAs get up to next!
