There we were, dreaming about the warm sun on our faces and heading outdoors, and in comes Mother Nature to meddle with our springtime plans... again!

Weather forecasters are insisting that a significant ‘Arctic cold outbreak’ will be pushing its way into central Europe, the Balkan peninsula and right into the Med this week. The cold airmass has already made its way over eastern Germany, the Czech Republic, western Poland, Austria and the Balkans. It is now heading towards the southern Mediterranean.

The cold will start diminishing slowly, but temperatures will drop to about 7°C on Wednesday, rising a little over the weekend. I mean, really Mother Nature? It’s May and we’re still wearing long sleeves and jackets!
And as if the cold wasn’t enough, according to local weather site Malta Weather, more miserable weather is expected this week across Malta and Gozo. Yay! (Not!) “We’re expecting moderate to strong winds, waves up to four metres high, rain showers possibly thundery at times and temperatures feeling as cold as 11°C this week as Spring remains on the back burner!” ... ugh, you can say that again!
