Snap that last shot! We won’t be seeing Valletta's famed Triton Fountain for a while
The fountain will be taking a break from its duties from today.
Since the much-needed restoration of the Valletta landmark, fantastic shots have popped up all over social media, ranging from stunning daytime shots to dreamy nighttime snaps of the Triton Fountain just outside City Gate. However, it looks like that’s the last of those pretty shots for a while!
The Triton Fountain will be switched off from today until Sunday 28th April for planned maintenance. Malta's Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ministry said in a statement that during these weeks, some TLC will be carried out on the fountain, including the repainting of the fountain’s ponds and cleaning work on the travertine and the spout of the upper pond.
This sort of maintenance is being done regularly in order to keep the newly restored monument conserved for years to come, and we commend the effort!
