Sliema to Buġibba to Gozo by ferry! New route is launching tomorrow
You will soon be able to travel from Sliema to Buġibba and onwards to Gozo on a fast ferry

Tomorrow is the first day in which you can travel from Sliema to Buġibba and onwards to Gozo on a fast ferry.

This route has long been in the works, but Transport Minister Chris Bonett has now announced that it will start operating on Tuesday, 5th May.

The first bookable departure tomorrow from Gozo will be at 10:15, while the first bookable departure from Sliema will be at 11:45.

The normal schedule for this ferry ride will leave Mġarr, Gozo at 5:15am and from Sliema at 5:45am. The final departure from Gozo will be at 9:15pm in summer and 4:15 in winter, and the final departure from Sliema will be at 10pm in summer and 3:45pm in winter. You can book up to 30 minutes before departure at Gozohighspeed.com

Prices will vary according to the route and category of traveller.

Tallinja cards will be able to travel the Sliema – Buġibba route for free, but the Buġibba – Gozo route will cost €6.50.

Gozo residents will benefit from discounts of €2 for the Buġibba – Gozo route and €2.25 for the Sliema – Gozo route.

Discounts will also apply to students, senior citizens, children and those with special needs, while people using the ferry for hospital appointments will be able to travel free of charge.

The Sliema – Buġibba – Gozo route will cost €8.50 for passengers who don’t hold a tallinja card.
