Sliema & St Julian's look unrecognizeable in side by side pics taken 27 years apart
The first batch of photos was taken in 1992

It is no secret that Malta has changed drastically in the past century. However, an even more astounding transformation can be observed in the Sliema and St Julian's area in the last 30 years.

In a series of photos taken comparing the two areas in 1992 to their modern counterpart, the noticeable change will either leave your jaw hanging, kickstart the nostalgia, or both!

The photos were taken by British holidaymaker Michelle Thompson who wrote: "St Julian's looks a lot different than it was in 1992...so built up now and full of pubs and clubs."

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
