SLAY! This 19-year-old will be the only Maltese model at this year's Alta ROMA fashion week
She's hitting the runway in style! Rebecca Camilleri, a 19-year-old Maltese model who's making it big in the fashion world, will be heading to the ancient city of Rome to model a new collection by a local designer James Dimech during Rome's Alta ROMA 'World of Fashion' on 7th July, thanks to the Chamber of Fashion Malta and Supernova Model Management.
Rebecca, who has been modelling since she was 14, tells me about this incredible opportunity. “Throughout the years I have been modelling, I’ve been given numerous opportunities for which I am thankful and grateful for, and which have led me to being nominated in Malta Fashion Week for the Female Model Award three years in a row. I thank Supernova Model Management for that,” she tells me.
“This year I’m so lucky that my dream is becoming a reality, as I was chosen as the only Maltese model to go up to Rome to model in Rome Fashion Week,” she says. “It’s such an honour, and I feel so grateful that I’m participating in such a prestigious event - especially to be walking for the talented Maltese designer James Dimech. I’m really looking forward to walking on an international runway, meeting new people and seeing what the fashion industry is like over there. This is the first big step overseas and hopefully it won’t stop there!”
Rebecca will be modelling the local designer's “wearable art” featuring designs largely made using sustainable recycling materials. Rebecca will be modelling Dimech’s Elizabeth: a journey to ethical elegance and it sounds incredible!
Good luck Rebecca!
