Locals love their weekly lotto fix, and many will be disappointed to hear that gaming retail outlets will also be affected by the announcement of yesterday’s ban asking establishments open to the public to temporarily close their doors.
Maltco Lotteries Ltd issued a statement today: “We shall be suspending the operation of its points of sale with immediate effect which will remain closed as from today Wednesday 18th March 2020 and until a further communication will be issued.”
Due to this, the Super 5 draw scheduled for tonight as well as Friday’s SUPERSTAR and Saturday’s Lotto & Quaterno + will be suspended and rescheduled to a later date. The company announced that tickets purchased for these draws will remain valid for when they are resumed.
In relation to payment of tickets, Maltco Lotteries Ltd also said that: “Payment of tickets shall be also suspended and will be made available again once the operation is resumed. As directed by the Malta Gaming Authority, the cashing period of 60 days for winning tickets will be extended to 90 days. Furthermore, the period for claiming winnings may be extended further if required, as circumstances develop.”
