Santa abseiling down B'bugia’s bell tower is one festive video you didn’t know you needed
Someone's been training this year!

Birzebbugia’s Milied fil-Pjazza organisers revealed that they had some cool surprises in store for visitors  over the last weekend, but Santa abseiling down the parish church’s bell tower was not quite what we had in mind!

In a video uploaded to Facebook, a man dressed up as Santa is shown hanging from high up the church’s facade, making his way down the bell tower amidst much clapping and cheering from the hordes of people who congregated to follow this slightly bizarre yet super cool stunt.

Santa then made his way to a gigantic sleigh which was specially constructed for the event, decked out with an equally large deer cut-out and an enormous Christmas tree in what can be referred to as the boot of the sleigh. The whole structure was then lit up with fairy lights, amping up the festive atmosphere in the village square.

With the bar set so high by Birzebbuga's community, it looks like other localities have quite a task in front of them to overshadow Milied fil-Pjazza's stunning festive weekend!

What did you think of Santa's scary stunt?

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
