The Chapel of Christ the Savior in Qrendi, also known as the Chapel of the Transfiguration of Jesus, is a testament to centuries of history and faith. Originally built in 1658, it was constructed on the same site as its predecessor, maintaining its enduring name.

Upon entering through the chapel's main door, visitors are greeted by a striking stone-built balcony, added to the structure in 1876. This architectural feature adds to the chapel's character, offering a glimpse into the craftsmanship of a long-lost era.

At the rear of the chapel lies a unique element—a staircase integrated into the wall, affectionately known as "kurbelli." This staircase, dating back generations, serves a practical purpose, ascending from street level to the chapel's roof. Historically, it was utilised for maintenance and repair work on the chapel's roof, providing access for necessary upkeep.

As visitors explore this chapel in Qrendi, they are transported back in time, to not only a place of worship but also as a tangible link to the town's past, preserving its heritage for generations to come.

Have you ever visited this chapel in Qrendi?
