Prepare for a night of enchanting musical mastery as the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra presents ‘Romantic Classics,’ happening on the 16th of December at 8 pm at the MCC in Valletta, an event that promises to immerse audiences in the timeless beauty of classical compositions.

The carefully curated programme begins with Ludwig van Beethoven's dramatic Coriolan Overture, a musical journey that unfolds the powerful emotions encapsulated in Heinrich von Collin's tragic narrative.

The spotlight then turns to acclaimed soloists, violinist Carmine Lauri and cellist Maximilian Hornung, who join forces with the orchestra for Johannes Brahms' mesmerising Double Concerto. This performance is a sublime fusion of sonorities and breathtaking melodies, showcasing the seamless collaboration between soloists and the orchestra.

The pinnacle of the evening is Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 9. Under the baton of conductor Michael Laus, known as The Great, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra delves into the pure musical grandeur and lyrical intensity of Schubert's epic masterwork, marking his final major orchestral contribution.

‘Romantic Classics’ promises a classical experience, inviting attendees to witness the emotive power and artistic brilliance of these classical compositions, making it an evening to remember for all lovers of fine music and timeless elegance.
