Motorsport enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend! Island Car Club Malta will be holding the seventh round of its annual race in Mellieħa this Sunday 19th October.

To make way for the event, Transport Malta has announced that the main road between Għadira Bay and the Mellieħa Petrol Station – known as Dawret il-Mellieħa or the Mellieħa Bypass in the Ta’ Pennellu area – will be closed to traffic from 8:30am until 5:00pm.

Drivers are advised to follow on-site signs and alternative routes provided for the day. Motorists planning to travel through Mellieħa are encouraged to allow extra time for their journey - particularly if you plan on travelling down from Gozo!

The Island Car Club races are a highlight for local motorsport fans, bringing together skilled drivers and high-speed action in some of Malta’s most scenic locations - if that's up your alley, make sure to be there on Sunday!

Good luck to all the drivers participating!
