The Freedom Day Regatta has been rescheduled yet again, with organisers announcing that the 2026 edition will now be held on Saturday, 11th April.

Initially postponed due to adverse weather, the event required a further change after updated forecasts pointed to strong southeast winds on Sunday. Conditions were expected to reach Force 4 to 6, raising concerns about potential disruptions and the overall fairness of the races.

With the new date set, races are planned to start at 10am, giving organisers the opportunity to run the event in more favourable and stable conditions.

The decision to move the regatta forward aims to provide a safer and more balanced competition for all participating crews, ensuring the event can proceed as smoothly as possible.

Will you be attending this year’s regatta?
