Pet-lovers rejoice! A family-friendly event aimed at promoting animal welfare will take place in Valletta, as ‘Pet Day’ is set to be held at Hastings Garden on Saturday, 11th April.

The event will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm and is designed to bring together families and their pets in a fun yet educational environment. Throughout the day, visitors can explore information stands on responsible pet care, enjoy children’s activities, and support fundraising initiatives for abandoned animals.

The event forms part of a broader vision to better integrate animals into everyday life in Malta. With over 60% of Maltese and Gozitan households owning at least one pet, the importance of strengthening policies that promote animal welfare and inclusion is a great one.

The government is also investing in related initiatives, including a scheme in collaboration with Project Green, which will allocate up to €50,000 per local council for projects such as dog parks or cat cafés.

Will you be attending the event with your furry friends?
