It’s been a decade since Red Electrick exploded on the local music scene with their debut single The End of it All and Red Electrick’s love for music and uncanny ability to merge genres together has tenably secured them a place in local music history.

With their new album Tragic Optimist dropping on Spotify tomorrow, the five-man band have taken to social media to announce a super cool and highly eco-friendly collaboration to celebrate their latest musical achievement.

In an Instagram video, frontman John Roscoe explains the reason why they have left fans waiting for so long after their album launched earlier last month: “We wanted to wait a while because of our project with Brown’s pharmacy,” he says.

And the noble reason proves to be worth the wait: “all procceds from the physical albums that are sold at Brown’s pharmacy will go to this afforestation project to plant trees in a place that desperately needs them.”
