Ready, set, go! Plan the Easter egg hunt of your dreams in Malta’s magical Buskett Gardens
Get your baskets ready

Kristina Cassar Dowling

Do you have kids? Do you like nature? Do you celebrate Easter? Do you like chocolate? Well, if you answered yes to at least one of these questions, this adventure around Buskett Woodland might be your cup of tea.

Easter is a time when local families get together and enjoy each other’s company. It’s usually a dining table and roast lamb which take centre stage, but why not make it a little bit more exciting this year? Take the troops out of the kitchen and into the green. It’s springtime after all, and it should be spent outdoors - weather permitting!

Pack yourself a picnic, get the adults together and give the kiddies a treat. You’ll need a bunch of Easter eggs on hand, a collection basket per child and a camera to capture all the smiling faces.

Head to a desired location in Buskett, or any other green area you may prefer, grab a couple of mini Easter eggs and hide them around the area. Tip: don’t spread them too far as your kids will think you've played a trick on them. You can’t blame them now, can you?

Once all the eggs are hidden, let the kids in on the game. Explain that they’ll need to locate a number of eggs between them before they can start eating them, and set them off individually or in teams with a woven basket in hand.

Adults, prepare to giggle and get in on the action. It’s fun and exciting and will certainly make you hungry!

Once all the eggs are gathered, treat your kids to a massive Easter egg - they did well didn’t they? Happy egg hunting everyone!
