Many visitors from all over the world have taken a fancy to the lovely beaches that Malta has to offer, including the British royal family!

As these rare pictures show, a young Prince Charles and Princess Anne enjoyed a day at a rocky beach with Lord and Lady Mountbatten during their visit to Malta way back in 1954. It is said that their visit was to St Peter’s Pool, which is located in the quaint village of Marsaxlokk, in the Southern part of Malta.

Judging by their attire, it’s unlikely that they were there for a swim, but they did seem to enjoy a nice walk on the shore… I mean, who wouldn’t?

So it’s official – if you ever need to feel like a total Lord (or Lady, of course) just pack your bag and head down to Marsaxlokk! Just try to keep away from any royals if you see one…
