Plan ahead! These Gzira roads will be closed & classified as TOW ZONES this weekend

The Malta Police Force have issued a notice stating that various roads in Gzira will be classified as Tow Zones due to the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel that is being celebrated this weekend. And that’s not all: drive throughs and even drop offs in the listed streets are prohibited during the dates and times indicated and will be towed if caught doing so. Damn…

The full list (& it’s a long one) of roads being closed over this weekend:

1. Manoel de Vilhena Street (carriageway Rue d’Argens), Kubrit Street (carriageway Sir William Reid Street) and The Strand will be closed for vehicular traffic from 10pm tonight, from 8pm on Saturday 13th and between 1.30pm and 4pm on Sunday 14th.

2. Friday 12th from 10pm onwards, vehicular traffic from Ta’ Xbiex and Msida towards The Strand, direction towards Sliema will be diverted to Gzira Road. And from 9pm onwards, incoming traffic proceeding from the Sliema front in the direction of The Strand will be diverted towards Manwel Dimech Street.

3. The strand, between Manoel Island bridge and William Reid Street: Saturday 13th July from 5am onwards.

4. Manoel de Vilhena Street, Victory Street, and The Strand Gzira: Saturday 13th July from 3pm onwards.

5. On Saturday 13th July, Manoel de Vilhena Street will be closed for vehicular traffic from 5.30pm onwards.

6. On Saturday 13th July, Cameron Street will be closed for vehicular traffic from Sir William Reid Street from 7.30pm onwards.

7. Vehicular traffic coming from Ta’ Xbiex and Msida towards The Strand (direction to Sliema) will be diverted to Gzira Road on Saturday 13th from 9pm onwards. Incoming traffic proceeding from the Sliema seafront in the direction of The Strand will be diverted to Manwel Dimech Street also from 9pm onwards.

8. Manoel de Vilhena Street, Carlo Manche’ Street, Stuart Street, Victory Street, Conception Street, St Albert Street, Meme Scicluna Square, Fleet Street, Cameron Street, Ponsomby Street, The Strand – carriageway leading to Sliema, Manoel de Vilhena: Sunday 14th July from 1pm onwards.

9. On Sunday 14th between 1pm and 4pm vehicular traffic coming from Ta’ Xbiex and Msida towards The Strand direction towards Sliema will be diverted to Gzira Road. And between 1.30pm and 4pm, incoming traffic proceeding from the Sliema seafront towards The Strand will be directed towards Manwel Dimech Street.

10. On Sunday 14th, Manoel de Vilhena Street, St Albert Street, Rue d’Argens, Meme Scicluna Square, Bleveder Street, Carlo Manche’ Street and The Strand will be closed for vehicular traffic between 7pm and 11.30pm.

11. From 8pm onwards on Sunday 14th, vehicular traffic coming from Ta’ Xbiex and Msida towards The Strand will be diverted to Gzira Road. And incoming traffic from Sliema to The Strand will be diverted towards Manwel Dimech Street.
