Heading out tonight? Well, you better plan a different route if you were thinking of passing through Regional Road! Starting tonight up until Friday 30^th August, the Regional Road southbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 5am daily between the Santa Venera/Birkirkara bridge roundabout and the Santa Venera Tunnel for overnight upgrading works.

After the extensive reconstruction works that took place over the summer in this area, “we are now updgrading another part of this road, further south, to introduce central reservation crash barriers and to resurface the carriageway with new asphalt,” Infrastructure Malta said.

They urged drivers to follow diversion signs to Santa Venera and Hamrun and assured that all lanes will be open during the day, specifically at rush hours.
