The Qala battery that is overlooking Comino has recently been restored to its former glory.

It will be open for anyone who wishes to visit from 1pm to 4pm, while Dr Stanley Farrugia Randon will be giving two talks about the fascinating history behind the fort at 1:30pm and 2:30pm.

The battery was built in the year 1732 by Grand Master Antonio Monaiel de Vilhena as part of his efforts to increase the defence between the sea channel from Gozo and Comino.

During the day, the ‘Keep Qala’ group will also be organising a clean-up around the area near the fort.
