A great initiative!

Way to go! The Haz-Zebbug community came together and managed to plant 128 urban trees in the locality as part of the ‘Sponsor a Tree’ campaign.

Independent Zebbug local councillor Steve Zammit Lupi shared the news in a post on social media, thanking all those who participated in the campaign. “Our ‘Sponsor a Tree’ campaign for the 2020 planting season is finally complete! Six months ago, through 97 donors we raised €4300 to sponsor 128 urban trees in Haz-Zebbug.”

“We managed to get every tree pit constructed, and every tree planted just in time before summer,” Steve continues.

“I would like to thank all those who made this community project a reality; our residents, sponsors, volunteers and workers. As we enter the month of May we can now focus on watering the trees and their care.”

Great stuff, guys!
