Night exploration awaits! ‘After Dark at Hal Tarxien: A Torchlight Tour’ coming this November
As Halloween approaches and the clocks turn back an hour in just over a week, it’s the perfect time to embrace the island’s darker side. That’s exactly what 'After Dark at Hal Tarxien: A Torchlight Tour' aims to do!
On Friday 8th November, Heritage Malta invites the public to explore the megalithic Hal Tarxien Prehistoric Complex by torchlight. The tour will begin at 6 PM and conclude around 8:30 PM.
Often simply referred to as the 'Tarxien Temples', this prehistoric site dates back to ancient times and was later repurposed during the Bronze Age and Roman periods, eventually becoming a field until its discovery in the early 20th century.
To fully experience this historic site at night, attendees are encouraged to bring their own torchlight to highlight the most fascinating features during a curator-led tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site after regular hours.
Participants will learn about the original excavations and the discoveries made by Temi Zammit. Complimentary coffee, tea, and cakes will be served afterward, and guests are encouraged to bring their own cups to reduce waste and support environmental conservation. Tickets are available online or in person at any Heritage Malta site.
