Kind, Strange, Beautiful! Over 80 artists to showcase their work at Malta Society of Arts exhibition
The Malta Society of Arts (MSA) is set to open its annual Members’ Exhibition, bringing together the work of more than 80 artists under the theme KIND | STRANGE | BEAUTIFUL.
Curated by Prof. Charlene Vella from the University of Malta’s Department of Art and Art History, the exhibition will showcase the breadth of contemporary artistic practice within Malta’s creative community. Works will span a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, printmaking and mixed media.
Rather than following a single narrative, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the works freely and consider how ideas of kindness, strangeness and beauty can overlap and challenge one another.

Prof. Vella said the curatorial process sought to respect each artist’s individuality while creating meaningful relationships between works through elements such as colour, scale, technique, medium and mood. The exhibition will feature established practitioners alongside emerging artists, including younger creatives and international artists living in Malta.
The exhibition will also highlight the historic setting of Palazzo de La Salle, whose restored interiors and interconnected galleries provide a distinctive backdrop for the artworks.
MSA President Dr Joe Borg described the Members’ Exhibition as one of the Society’s landmark events, particularly significant as it returns three years after the previous edition and re-launches as an annual occasion.
KIND | STRANGE | BEAUTIFUL will be open to the public from 18 September to 15 October 2026 at the MSA Art Galleries, Palazzo de La Salle, Valletta. Admission is free. The official opening will take place on 17 September at 6.30pm.
