National record! 255kg of paper confetti showered at St Helen’s feast in Birkirkara
The Cleansing Department managed to clean up the streets from the paper confetti in less than an hour!
Another festa-related national record was set over the weekend, as the feast of St Helen in Birkirkara saw 255 kilograms worth of paper confetti thrown by 10 people from the roof of a private residence, in an incredible 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
This took place during the morning march on Saturday, as the band passed through John Borg Street, past the home of Birkirkara residents Kurt Farrugia and Chantelle Farrugia Sacco who organised this record attempt.
The successful execution of the paper throwing led to a cacophony of excitement in the streets, but the work didn’t stop there. The Cleansing Department, with whom this record attempt was organised, managed to clear the street from paper confetti within less than an hour after the festivities ended. Their hard work was commended by The Malta Records and everyone else who attended the feast.
Well done to all those who participated in the record setting and the cleanup afterwards!
