Now that an aggressor has been taken to court and the victims are back home with all the stolen items back in their possession, they have reached out to local police offers in thanks for catching and prosecuting the accused in only two days.

In a screenshot shared by the Malta Police Force, the couple exude appreciation and praise for all the help they received following the accident and even admit that the rapid intervention brings shame to the UK legal system. Despite the ugly event, their love for the island has not been marred and the pair are in fact eagerly anticipating their return to Gozo.

In a public statement on facebook, The Malta Police Force reciprocated the gratitude: “Appreciation message we have recently received from the victims of the mugging case which happened in Xaghra Gozo on the 22nd September 2019. The aggressor was charged under arrest two days later and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. Well Done to our Gozitan colleagues”.

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
