Monday 19th October: Malta records 109 new cases & 6 recoveries of COVID-19

According to the figures published by the Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, Malta has registered 109 new cases of COVID-19 after 2561 swabs were done in the past 24 hours. 

The post also noted that, “Today’s cases are still being investigated. From yesterday’s cases: 40 cases were family members of previously known cases, 17 cases were contact of positive work colleagues, 7 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, 6 cases were from social gathering and other positive cases and 2 cases were imported.”

The islands have registered 6 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 3242 and the number of active cases to 1450. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 4737 cases and has performed 300,326 swab tests.
