Monday 18th January 2021: Malta registers 154 new cases of the virus

According to the figures published by the Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, Malta has registered 154 new cases of COVID-19 after 3,239 swabs were done in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 121 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 12,717 and the number of active cases to 2,784. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 15,742 cases and has performed 570,184 swab tests. The islands also registered another two deaths: to men aged 73 and 84 who passed away at Mater Dei yesterday. Malta's current death total is 241. 

The post also noted that until yesterday, 17th January, 11,705 vaccine doses have been administered to various people on the islands.
