Monday 17th January: 288 new COVID-19 cases registered overnight as 699 recover

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 288 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 699 recoveries, meaning that the country’s total number of active cases now stands at 9,509.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 16th January, Malta had administered 1,170,747 vaccine doses. 306,964 of these were booster doses.

No COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, meaning that the country’s virus death toll remains at 506.

A total of 124 patients are being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, eight of whom are in ITU.
