You know that cats are a 'thing' in Malta when there is an Instagram hashtag #maltacats that has over 2500 posts and #catsofmalta has over 9000 posts! Well, after all, Malta is dubbed the ‘island of cats.’ 

One look and you know these are no ordinary, scraggly strays.

Did you know that the cat’s purr has a frequency range of 20-140 Hertz, a vibrational frequency that may be therapeutic to humans? Purring has been linked to inducing deeper breathing, lowering stress, reducing chance of a heart attack, and even strengthening bones!
