Such an inspiration!

It’s not every day that you hear such a heartwarming story, and this one just captivated us. Meet Miguel, the 14-year-old who donated his savings to the Association for Abandoned Animals (AAA) last week.

What a kind gesture! We got in touch with the inspirational teen and his parents to find out more. “It was actually a suggestion my dad made to donate my pocket money, and I totally agreed,” Miguel said. His mum tells us that he used the money to buy a few things for himself too, but donated the majority to a cause that is very close to his heart.

“I love animals, mostly dogs. Since I was a little kid, I dreamt of working with stray animals. I feel very upset when I see animals being mistreated and I think sanctuaries don’t get much help, so I decided to donate to the AAA.” What a sweet kid!

When asked about the AAA’s reaction, Miguel shares, “they were very surprised and pleased. They said it will help them cover some expenses. One of the helpers mentioned how expensive the vet bills and medication can be. I felt it was the best idea and knew it will help the dogs and the people working there,” Miguel explains, saying he must have donated over €100.

His parents also chimed in to express how proud they are of their son. “Miguel could have spent the money on video games or saved it for a new phone, but he thought these dogs need it more. We are very proud of him. He’s a very kind, loving boy and we're sure that it’s not going to be his last good deed,” they say, hoping that their son’s action could inspire other kids to do the same.
