Forward Architects has been shortlisted for Hotel Under 50 Rooms – Europe Award in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2019 for the work done to The Rosselli – AX Privilege in Valletta.

The incredible design is a fusion of themes that will surprise, provoke and stir emotion within the 17^th century stunning baroque palazzo. The location set the perfect stage for a memorable visitor experience due to its beautiful baroque design, high ceilings and symmetry.

The design of the hotel adopts a mix-and-match approach of finishes, objects and fittings that are at times unrelated but always complementary in the emotions that they provoke, from the contemplative to the celebratory.

“We wanted to move away from the stiffness associated with local hotels towards a more evocative sophisticated affair. Our aim was to try and create a design to withstand the test of time and create stage sets that ignore trends and are instead suspended in time,” said Michael Pace, one of the partners and founders of the award-nominated firm.

The suites comprise six collections, each one provoking different emotions and a unique experience. Some are inspired by youth, rich in texture, colour and architectural motifs, while others are suggestive of Valletta’s secret gardens with feminine undertones and adorned with dark floral walls. The palazzo’s courtyard, spa facilitities, piano nobile suites and executive suites are nothing if not elegant and contemporary and dare I say, fit for royalty!
