It's been a month since MUZA, Malta's national art museum, closed its door to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic but preparations are already underway for its reopening once restrictions are lifted.
In a social media post this morning, the museum revealed it is undergoing several refurbishments: "Some of us are busily converting the lobby area before the entrance from Merchants Street into the Auberge d’Italie, where MUŻA is found, into a more welcoming and dynamic space," the post read.
The post continued to reassure followers that all health restrictions were being followed during this process: "Do not worry, everybody is keeping his or her safe distance as we work behind the scenes, applying of course the 'three's a crowd' maxim."
While thanking Heritage Malta's Exhibitions & Design Department who are assisting this project, the museum revealed its eagerness to reopen: "We look forward to a future when this COVID-19 pandemic will be behind us so that MUŻA can open its doors again," the post concluded.
