Malta's first Eco Market is launched & it's bringing a whole new shopping experience!
The first edition was held last weekend.
Last weekend, the first edition of Eco Market Malta was launched at the Gaia Foundation premises in Ghajn Tuffieha, where locals gathered for a fun-filled event to raise awareness on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. Eco Market Malta is a monthly activity that will be held every last weekend of the month in several locations around Malta and Gozo.

The event featured stalls by sustainable local artisans and small businesses, apart from a series of talks, workshops and entertainment all aimed at creating awareness about the importance of safeguarding our environment.
So when can I get my hands on some organic stuff?
The next Eco Market will be held on 29th and 30th June at the Independence Gardens in Sliema, and the following one should be held on the 27th and 28th of July at Fort St Elmo in Valletta. But until then, here are some tips you can do to safeguard the environment!
1. Use cold water when washing dishes and clothes.
2. Eat more veggies and less meat and processed foods. Hey, it’s a healthy option too!
3. Invest in better quality fashion items that will last longer.
4. Cycle or walk to close destinations. It's great exercise, too!

5. Carpool to and from work or university, or any other social events.
6. Buy from farmers’ markets to avoid items wrapped in plastic.
7. Avoid plastic straws when you order drinks at a pub, bar or restaurant. It’s all about the metal straws nowadays!
8. Buy local and organic or all-natural products, which will benefit the planet and your health.
