Malta’s beloved Tenor Joseph Calleja lists GuideMeMalta as one of his top local haunts!
Joseph Calleja has been a cultural ambassador for Malta since 2012.
It’s a happy day for the GMM team! International star and one of Malta’s beloved performers, Joseph Calleja, has named GuideMeMalta among his top haunts around the islands.
“This dynamic site is quickly becoming Malta’s favourite!” notes the Maltese Tenor on the Cultural Ambassador section of his website. And as big fans of the star, we freaked out a little when we found out!
Joseph Calleja is a world-renowned singing sensation and Grammy Award nominee that has graced stages in some of the world’s most prestigious theatres. He was appointed as Malta’s first ever Cultural Ambassador in 2012, a role that “has allowed me to passionately promote the island of my birth – a jewel in the Mediterranean steeped in history and cultural diversity,” he says.
Calleja’s other favourite local haunts include Visit Malta, Corinthia Hotels, Xara Palace Mdina, Casa Ellul, San Lawrenz Kempinski Gozo, Trattoria Da Pippo, Tarragon, Tmun Gozo and Ta’ Frenc Restaurant in Gozo.
The role of a cultural ambassador of Malta is bestowed upon people who encourage the promotion of our little isle in various sectors. Apart from Joseph Calleja, London-based interior designer Francis Sultana is also a cultural ambassador as of February 2018, and was appointed so due to his work in helping to put Malta on the map in terms of art and design.
