The Government of Malta officially declared Saturday 26th April, a national day of mourning in honour of the funeral of the late Pope Francis. It was confirmed that all official government events planned for that day will be suspended as a sign of respect.

In light of this announcement, the third show of the Malta International Fireworks Festival, originally scheduled to take place in Nadur, Gozo on Saturday evening, has now been postponed to Sunday 27th April.

The decision was made in alignment with the national sentiment and as a gesture of solemn respect during this significant moment for the Catholic community and beyond. Organisers of the festival have confirmed that all details and programming for the Nadur show will remain the same, with only the date being moved forward by one day.

The final show of the festival will take place as planned, at the Grand Harbour on Wednesday 30th April.

Attendees planning to visit Gozo for the show are encouraged to adjust their travel plans accordingly and stay updated through official festival and local council channels.

Are you heading to Nadur for the Gozitan portion of the festival?
