Caesar is now living his best life in Malta’s countryside.
Malta’s countryside has just welcomed a new friend!
Local eNGO Wildlife Rescue Team Malta took to social media to share the story of Caesar – a hedgehog found “in a box on a shop doorstep” on 2nd July in pretty bad shape.
“He was in a very sorry state, with most of his quills missing due to a skin infection,” the organisation wrote.
“It’s taken four months for Caesar to fully heal but look at him now. He’s as good as new and was released this evening,” it continued.

Pictures shared by Wildlife Rescue Team Malta show Caesar’s healing process, as his quills gradually regrew.
A video shared to the post’s comments section shows Caesar happily making his way back into the wild.
“A massive thank you always goes to the public who calls us when they notice an animal in distress, our vets, and our dedicate rescue and rehabilitation volunteers,” the eNGO concluded.
