Locals stunned by incredible discovery beneath flower bed in historic cemetery
Can you believe it?

It’s not everyday that locals make a historic discovery, but when they do, it’s always something interesting from God-knows which of the many time periods Malta has experienced.

This time, it happened at the Msida Bastion Historic Garden which was been called “one of the five most beautiful cemeteries in Europe” by National Geographic Travel magazine. Over the past days, the historic garden’s caretakers took the decision to remove a dead bush from a particular area, but what they found was incredible.

“The decision to remove a dead bush, brough us to discover a huge amount of stones under a few inches of soil,” they said in a Facebook post, sharing that among the things found were pieces of an engraved tombstone from way back when. “Further research [is] being carried out to survey the stones hoping to find more answers to our questions.”

How cool is that?!
