Local salon pledges to remove gossip magazines in the wake of Caroline Flack tragedy
If you’ve been following the news lately, you would have heard about the unfortunate death of former Love Island and X Factor UK host, Caroline Flack. The Flack family lawyer confirmed that she took her own life and was found dead in her flat in east London.
Flack was battling social media backlash after being arrested and charged with assaulting her boyfriend, Lewis Burton at the end of 2019. She was about to go on trial for the incident, despite Burton withdrawing the complaint.
In support of sharing kindness and raising awareness, Beau Boutique Salon in Kent have announced that they will be removing gossip mags from their salon. “With the devastatingly horrendous news about Caroline Flack we will not be promoting these magazines that troll people, put people down, advertise peoples personal issues, criticise peoples outfits…the list goes on. #bekind”
“We will be replacing them with good old fashioned books, informative educational magazines and adult colouring books,” they announced. And in solidarity, local salon Alfie’s Hair and Beauty Salon is doing the very same thing. “We are following suit… let’s encourage kindness! Not to bullying and no to hate!”
Kudos to these guys!
