Local dance crew beat themselves by winning 1st AND 3rd at World of Dance competition
Talk about trashing the competition!

Cheryl Lofreda and the entire Concept of Movement gang have been prepping for the World of Dance competition intensely over the past few weeks. Now, their sacrifices, gruelling rehearsal regimens and hard work has paid off after the two crews Cheryl put forward for the competition, M.V.M.T and Mega Crew, won first and third place respectively in the Team Division Category.

Through a post-competition Facebook post, Concept of Movement founder and choreographer Cheryl Lofreda thanked everyone who had offered her team support, insisting that " the family and friends who provided support especially "our parents and friends, without your support this would not be possible!"

Her post also revealed some shocking facts which heighten their achievement in Switzerland. Cheryl writes that while some have been dancing and training for a long time, "some of dancers were dancing for less than 1 year or 2" with "some of the winning dancers never having been on a stage to perform" prior to the World of Dance competition. For Cheryl, this is not just a personal achievement but a national one: "This is also a proof for all the dancers that no matter the size of your country (Small rock in the middle of the Mediterranean), it is always POSSIBLE."

For those wondering what formula to adopt when chasing dreams, Cheryl offers a little equation: patience + hard work + being humble. We feel you!

Speaking about future plans, Cheryl drops one big hint: Los Angeles. Will she be choreographing there? Will she take up her team for a training camp? Or will her crew compete on larger platforms? We may not know the exact details yet, but one thing is for certain; this talented woman is set to "keep working hard and aiming higher and higher."

You guys sure made Malta proud!

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
