Did you ever wonder what the Tarxien Temples would look like at night, lit up just by torchlight? Well now you can, with Heritage Malta’s torchlight tour of the incredible temples.
As night falls and the daily hustle and bustle dies out, witness the incredible history these temples have to offer under torchlight.
A little bit about the prehistoric temples
The Tarxien Temples date back to prehistoric times, but parts of the site were repurposed during the Bronze Age and Roman period, which left their mark on these magnificent structures. The temples were abandoned before they were rediscovered at the start of the 20th century.
What can participants expect from the tour?
All those attending need to bring their own LED torchlight which will reveal all the secrets these temples hide, including interesting features. This will be a curator’s guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site during which the public will hear about the original excavations and the finds Sir Temi Zammit uncovered in this complex.
