The popular supermarket is being disinfected.
LIDL supermarket in the southern village of Ħal Safi has temporarily shut its doors after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19, according to Malta’s Superintendent of Public Health Charmaine Gauci.

While the popular supermarket is carefully disinfected, Prof. Gauci assured worried shoppers that the risk of anyone having been infected there is quite low.
Still, speaking on Radio Malta’s Bonġu Kafè, she urged those who shopped there between 26th and 30th March to monitor themselves and watch for symptoms (including those we should all be familiar with by now: loss of taste and smell, coughing, fever or shortness of breath) and to phone 111 if any of these appear.
LIDL will re-open once the Department of Public Health is assured that it poses no risk to the public.
