It’s national hug your dog day! Pups all over the islands will be getting lots of hugs from their humans today, but what about all those furry friends who need a forever home? Here are just some of the many adorable doggos that are up for adoption in Malta - we're sure they'd gladly hug YOU everyday!

1. Rio

Rio was found eight months ago and was terrified of humans. After gaining weight, strength and confidence, the pure breed English pointer is a shy but very loving doggy.

2. This adorable pup

This little pup is just nine weeks old and doesn’t have a name yet. The sweet lab and kelb tal-kacca mix is still getting used to tricks but all he’s looking for is a forever home.

3. Spike

Spike is a four-month-old pup who just loves a good photo shoot! He loves to nap and play, and will definitely keep you company at night.

4. Cutie pie!

This adorable pup may not have quite figured out the camera posing yet, but is really photogenic and a beauty in reality. She’s 11 weeks old and just wants a family to love and be loved in return.

5. Luna

Meet Luna, the Rottweiler mix that is around a year old. Although she comes from a rough background, she is gentle with humans and super playful with other dogs. She’s a large breed dog, so will definitely need her space in her future forever home!

6. Dante

What a stunner! Dante is desperately looking for a loving forever home after being housed at the sanctuary for nearly a year. He’s a gentle and beautiful boy who loves to play and cuddle.

7. Spiru

This innocent and fun-loving doggo has so much love to give! The eight-year-old is ideal for someone who is looking for a clam, gentle companion who absolutely loves hugs and cuddles.

Guze is a loving and adorable pup and craves human contact. He’s a very good pup, a gentle soul and will make a great addition to any family!
