Make sure to take the necessary precautions if you’re planning on observing the eclipse.
Space lovers rejoice, because a relatively rare astronomical phenomenon will be visible from Malta today.
That’s right! A partial solar eclipse will be visible from all over the islands between 11:40am and 1:24pm on Tuesday 25th October.
In Malta, the eclipse is set to reach its peak at 12:32pm, i.e. when the moon is closest to the centre of the sun. A relatively small part of the sun will be covered by the moon, although this will still make for some awe-inspiring sights.

“Nowhere on Earth will see a total solar eclipse. This is because the alignment of the sun and moon in the sky will not be very exact,” the Maltese Islands Weather Facebook page explained.
“In parts of the northern hemisphere, a maximum of 82 per cent of the sun’s disk will be eclipsed by the moon. Russia and Kazakhstan will experience the greatest degree of eclipse,” it continued.
Should you be planning on observing today’s partial solar eclipse, make sure to wear protective gear and take the necessary precautions…
For starters, never look directly at the sun – this can cause some serious harm to your eyes. Apart from that, it is highly recommended to wear eclipse glasses or solar filters; sunglasses are nowhere near enough.
