It’s Earth Day! The annual event is celebrated worldwide today, and aims to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970 and now includes events in more than 193 countries, coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network. In honour of Earth Day, here are our favourite local countryside spots that are more than worth fighting for!

1. Buskett Gardens

Buskett Gardens form one of the very few woodland areas on the Maltese Islands. The fertile valley in Siggiewi is a 30ha site full of indigenous trees, wild species and picnic areas.
