It’s all about the islet life! Tonight’s public screening will reveal Malta’s hidden gems
Malta’s certainly a beautiful place full of interesting facts but so much of it is lost in the hubbub of everyday life. Tonight, CineXjenza will be facilitating access to some of the island’s most stunning – and largely unknown – areas through a free public screening of two documentaries.
Produced by the Malta Airport Foundations, both films will turn the spotlight away from the main islands and unto two islets, Filfla and Comino.
The documentaries, entitled Comino: A Secret Paradise and Filfla – An Incredible Malta Diving Experience respectively, will focus on the local ecosystem with special mention to the flora and fauna found on the islands.
The evening will also provide visitors the opportunity to chat with ecologist Professor Alan Deidun – who is also featured in the films – about biodiversity, conservation and the impact of human activity on ecosystems. He also knows some pretty cool trivia about jellyfich outbreaks which might be useful to have for the next summer season!
The event will kick off tonight at 7pm at Spazju Kreattiv and is hosted through a collaboration between CineXjenza, STEAM project, the Malta Chamber of Scientists, student science organisation S-Cubed and student environment organisation ESA.
Tuesday night plans sorted!
