Last night, the judges for X Factor Malta Season 2 were announced, and they’re none other than last season’s amazing Howard Keith Debono, Ray Mercieca, Ira Losco and Alexandra Alden. Ben Camille will also return as this season's presenter (we can hear a thousand swoons already!)

We absolutely loved the show last year, and couldn't wait to get some of our favourite judges' thoughts on their return to the show.

Howard Keith has big plans for this season, though much remains to be seen! “It’s an honour, a responsibility and my job, but truthfully I have no idea what Season 2 will bring," he says. "It’s a sealed box we’ll be opening slowly whilst auditioning the contestants who made it through the producer’s round.”

And it looks like he'll be bringing back his characteristic straight-talk. “In Season 1, I was lenient at times compared to how I normally am, keeping in mind it was the first season and the format might have been relatively new for some contestants and audience. Of course, I still gave harsh reality checks when I needed to.”

And it being the second season, there'll be more where that came from! “Considering it was the most watched program last year, I see no excuses this year so I will not be holding anything back. In Season 1 I was looking for distinct memorable voices, and this year I’ll add a few other things to that. I would like to raise the bar further," he says.

Meanwhile, we were also happy to hear that fellow judge Alexandra Alden would be back on the panel this year. “It feels great to be back," she tells us. "I feel very happy to be able to be in the position to scout out more hidden gems in Malta’s’ talent pool. Season 1 revealed some incredible voices and personalities, and I have no doubt that Season 2 will do the same.”
