Hold on tight! Force EIGHT and NINE gusts of winds expected to hit the islands later today
No rain is expected until the late afternoon.
The Maltese people that have already gone out this morning must have already noticed the strong winds circulating around the island and it’s only about to get worse…
Strong Force Ten winds are already strongly affecting Italy. The atmospheric pressure in the centre of the cyclone is already at 987hPa.
“It is very rare that we see this type of low pressure at this level”, the weather Facebook page ‘Aggornament ta’ temp’ reported.
This is slowly making its way to Malta, where the gusts of winds up to Force Eight and even Force Nine are expected to hit the islands at around 10am.
No rain is expected this morning but it might start pouring later today at around 5pm.
“Avoid bays in the west and southwest and zones with trees”, the weather page continued.
The meteorological office at the Malta International Airport has also issued a yellow warning
“Be Aware (yellow): The Southwest wind will be strong over the Maltese Islands”, they wrote.
