Hold on, Malta! Strong wind warning as gale-force gusts and showers set to batter the days ahead
A strong wind warning has been issued by the social media page It-Temp Madwarna, urging the public to take extra precautions as increasingly severe conditions are expected over the coming days.
Later today, winds from the west are forecast to strengthen to Force 7 to 8 on the Beaufort scale. At these levels, gusts can reach near-gale to gale force, capable of making outdoor activities difficult and potentially hazardous.
Conditions are expected to intensify further between Thursday 12th and Friday 13th February. During this period, winds will shift slightly to the west-northwest (WNW) and strengthen to Force 8 to 9. These gale to strong gale-force winds may bring significantly higher gusts, rough seas, and an increased risk of minor structural damage, fallen branches, and localised disruptions.
It looks like it’s going to be, yet another, windy couple of days. Isolated showers are also expected throughout the coming days, from today until Sunday 15th with Friday 13th looking like the only exception, till now!
Will the wind and rain disrupt your plans this weekend?
