Local weather platform Aggornament tat-Temp has issued a cautionary alert for strong winds expected to affect the Maltese Islands today, urging the public to remain attentive to changing conditions throughout the day.

According to the update, winds are forecast to reach Force 6 from the southwest between 8:30am and 8pm, with even stronger gusts anticipated during the late morning and early afternoon.

The period between 10am and 3pm is expected to see gusts climbing to Force 7, creating potentially hazardous conditions, particularly along exposed coastal areas and elevated terrain. Such wind levels can lead to rough seas, difficult driving conditions, and disruptions to small vessels or outdoor work.

Residents are advised to secure loose items around their homes, avoid unnecessary sea travel, and exercise caution when commuting.

While the winds are expected to ease gradually after 8pm, forecasters caution that conditions may remain unsettled into the evening.

Hold on tight!
