Malta’s December weather tends to reach an average of 18°C which cools to a chilly 11°C at night. So, make sure to pack some toasty clothes to keep you warm especially when you go out at night.

The sea temperature averages at around 19°C which means most people don’t usually go swimming around this time of the month, but the sea is more than welcoming if you’re up for a fresh and cold swim. However, it’s important not to risk going in the water if the winds are strong and the sea is rough as this is highly unsafe.
You might also come across the occasional rain but when it comes, it’s usually in short showers so it shouldn’t ruin a lovely and fun day out.
