And while we've all been craving the sun after a miserable few months, here are some things that can help keep us cool and avoid unnecessary health issues due to this ahem inferno.

1. Avoid the sun like the plague between 11am and 4pm, when it's at its peak

2. Close curtains in rooms that face the sun during the hottest parts of the day

3. Drink lots of fresh water and opt for cold food, such as salads

4. Wear light and loose clothing #Summervibes

5. Avoid physical exertion during the hottest parts of the day. I mean, if you insist…

6. Apply sunblock and wear a hat if you have to go out in the heat

7. Avoid alcohol, coffee, tea and caffeinated soft drinks which can make the sitch worse. Sad, we know...

Bottom line: stay out of the sun, wear a hat and sunblock, and keep hydrated, kids!
